| | did you get your christmas wish list? | | three weeks ago i started a discussion about everyone's christmas wishlist. i placed my wishlist there and asked everyone here at mylot what their christmas wish list is. i know this comes a tad bit too late but since it is better late than never, i just wanted to ask everyone if you got your christmas wish list? if so did you get everything on the list or did you just get some of it? were you happy with what you got or did you get anything at all?as for me, i can say with utmost enthusiasm that i did not get anything that i wrote in my christmas wish list. lol!!! seriously, it just drives the point that i need to look after myself because no other else is there to look after me. 'sigh'in a brighter note, i've realized that i should be striving harder if i want to get what i want in life. anyway, i'm close to getting the shirts plus the 501 jeans that i wanted. no chance in getting the oakley shades or the rudy project shades unless i rob a bank or something. lol at that thought!anyway, back to the discussion at hand, did you get what you wanted in your christmas wish list?cheers!!! | |
| | your christmas wish list | | hi fellow mylotters!i'm starting this discussion as a follow up to my other two previous discussions. the first one, i asked if you think you'll be spending more, less, or about the same for your holiday shopping this year. the second one i asked about your most innovative ways to cut down on your holiday shopping this year. for this third discussion, i'm going the complete opposite of the second one and i ask you guys to splurge and spend as much as you can to buy gifts to the most important person in the world... YOU!!!ok, ok, that's a bit taking it too far but you get my drift. list down three or perhaps five of the best presents you wan to get this holiday season. i don't to hear about some juvenile cr@p about getting peace of mind or world peace or acceptance from friedns and loved ones or any of that sentimental bs. i want to know what gifts you would love to receive this holiday season, actual physical, insanely expensive gifts that would make your day. i know being rich is relevant, meaning what maybe expensive to me is peanuts to others out there but please be as honest, wacky, and innovative as possible. after all it is only a list but who knows, santa might be... | |
| | I'm a big nerd and am becoming obsessed with History Detectives on PBS. | | Has anyone actually seen this series? People who watch the program log onto PBS.org and if you are really lucky someone from the History Detectives team will come and look at your item. I wonder if they would examine anything in my grandmother's attic. I'm sure she's got some cool stuff. In the shows I've seen (I've only recently found the show), they found a flag under which American soldiers marched as French soldiers because African Americans were not allowed to serve in combat during WWI. After much protest, they were finally allowed to but they didn't march under an American flag. We turned both regiments over to the French because they were desperately short of men and were apparently not as racist as we were because they'd always allowed Africans colonized by the French to fight in wars they were involved in. In another episode, a woman had a coin that was shot by Annie Oakley, the famous woman American gun slinger. Her great uncles played in the band for Bill Cody's Wild West Show where Annie performed and it's speculated that she gave them the coin as a reward for something. Do you all like this show?
